Califonia Bountiful

From the editors: Caring and sharing

Nov./Dec. 2014 California Bountiful magazine

There's plenty to celebrate!

This window of time that is the transition to winter comes alive with holidays, decorations, family and friends. It's a beautiful season for caring and sharing—as this issue celebrates—whether cooking festive comfort foods such as those in our recipe pages or making homemade gifts straight from the kitchen.

Read about the agricultural roots of a small-town grocery store along the San Mateo County coast and its strong community connections, the tending inside and out at a San Diego County memory-care facility with therapeutic horticulture programs, and farms that grow pecans in Tehama County and garbanzo beans in Sutter County.

The chefs, the grocer, the caregivers, the farmers: Our pages open winter's window into the hearts and spirits of these and other people who care and share not only throughout this season, but year-round. We hope you enjoy their stories.

Happy holidays from the team at California Bountiful magazine.
