California Farm Day

Students learn where their food comes from in virtual classroom

The California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating youth throughout California about the importance of agriculture in their daily lives, and earlier this year, they held their first ever virtual Farm Day. An estimated 200 teachers and 5,000 students in third through sixth grades registered for the event, which was streamed live from the Silt Wine Co. in Clarksburg.

The top 10 commodities grown in the state were highlighted by presentations that used science, nutrition, cooking, art and geography.
