Ficklin Vineyards hot buttered tawny

  • 1 cup butter, softened
    1 cup packed dark brown sugar
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 cup powdered sugar
    1/8 tsp. ground cloves
    1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. fresh ground nutmeg
    Ficklin Vineyards Aged 10 Years Tawny Port, to taste


With a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat butter and brown sugar on medium speed for 5 minutes or until light in color and fluffy. Beat in cream, alternating with powdered sugar. Add spices and mix briefly. Use immediately or store in freezer for up to 3 months.

For each serving, place 1/4 cup port (or more to taste) and 2 tbsp. hot buttered tawny batter into a mug. Stir in about 3/4 cup boiling water and enjoy.
