Honey mojito (Canchánchara)

Mojitos are one of the most popular rum drinks around, and honey makes the classic cocktail even more special!

Ingredients

Spiced honey syrup
4 tbsp. wildflower honey
4 tsps. hot water
1 stick cinnamon
3 cloves allspice

Cocktail
1 tbsp. spiced honey syrup (see recipe)
3 tbsp. Gustoso Aguardiente rum
1 1/2 tbsp. lime juice
8 mint leaves
Ice
2 tbsp. soda water
1 lime wheel, for garnish
1 peeled sugar cane, for garnish

Instructions

Mix syrup ingredients together. Place 1 tbsp. syrup in a cocktail shaker with rum, lime juice and mint. Muddle ingredients gently until mint is broken up. Add ice to shaker and shake for 10 to 15 seconds. Double strain into a Collins glass with ice and top with soda water. Garnish with a lime wheel and sugar cane. Leftover syrup can be stored up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
