Café Rouge anchoiade

  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds, toasted
    1/4 cup chopped dried Black Mission figs
    1 clove garlic, finely chopped
    1 tbsp. finely chopped anchovies
    1/2 tbsp. chopped savory
    1/2 tbsp. Pernod (licorice-flavored liqueur similar to absinthe)
    1/2 cup olive oil


Chop all ingredients by hand and mix together. Sprinkle on top of a grilled pork chop and enjoy.

Makes about 1 cup
